FOXFUR Founder
Growing up on Fox Hollow Farm, in Ohio, inspired the FOXFUR brand. Red foxes lived in the woods and sometimes would bless the then young founder with their presence, providing a glimpse of those intelligence eyes, orange coats and black paws. Having auburn hair himself he felt a comradery with the four legged neighbors.
Later in life the founder worked as a carpenter in Montana, and after attending Art Center College of Design, he worked as an industrial designer in California. What he discovered during these two career paths is the lack of socks that had both performance features and looked professional.
Professional dress socks would sag, lose their elasticity and trap moisture. Performance socks did not have an aesthetic that belonged in a professional office setting. So, he sought out to create a professional performance sock. One all professionals could benefit from, whether working at an office or at a jobsite.
After three years of development and testing the socks were ready. Satisfied with his creation he picked a name that pays homage to his childhood fox friends, his Fox Hollow Farm home and also is an abbreviation of his name,
Fox Furrington. FOXFUR.
